Amalendu Ghosh
Amalendu Kumar Ghosh, joined the Civil Service in 1972 and served more than 34 years in the district administration. He retired as Commissioner, Panchayats and Rural Development, Government of West Bengal. After retirement, he became Chairman Municipal Service Commission, West Bengal. He was also a National Monitor for Rural Development Programmes under the GOI. After retirement he joined Loka Kalyan Parishad, a renowned NGO working for empowerment of rural women through development of their livelihood and enabling them to fight with social evils. As Secretary LKP, he was instrumental in successfully implementing many Govt, and foreign funded projects that included formation of SHGs, involving them in income generating activities and social issues, federating them, formation of Producers’ Groups some of which later have been converted into Producers’ Companies.
