Anjan Mitra is an Architect and Urban Designer with over 40 years of professional experience. His search for Responsible Design Practice takes him beyond the physicality of Architecture to the holistic experience of built environment; it’s tangible and intangible issues and their connection to the society especially in the Indian context. He is the proprietor of The Appropriate Alternative, a holistic design practice. He is extensively engaged in teaching and research and is an active member of IIA, INTACH, IUDI and other professional bodies.
